On December 7, Seegene Mexico donated
50,000 COVID-19 diagnostic kits, 10,000 masks, and 50 freezers to Mexico City government.
The donated diagnostic kits will be
delivered to healthcare workers in Mexico City for quarantine activities in
Mexico, and the freezer will be used to store reagents and quarantine supplies.
The donation ceremony was held at Mexico City
government office building, in the presence
of Korean Ambassador in Mexico, KOTRA Mexico City Trade commissioner, Mexico
City Mayor, and head of Seegene Mexico, and was introduced on the official website
of Mexico City government, official SNS, and major broadcasting media.
Recently, more than 10,000 new confirmed
cases continue to occur in Mexico, and both beds and medical personnel are
insufficient. Accordingly, Mexico City has upgraded the level of response to
infectious diseases to the highest level since December. Also, the city has
been implementing strict quarantine measures that restrain daily life.
Head of Seegene Mexico said, “We hope that our
donation of diagnostic kits and quarantine supplies will help prevent the spread
of COVID-19.” He also said, “Seegene Mexico will continue to cooperate with
Mexico City government to effectively respond to COVID-19 in the future.”
